Hippo Plate- Rustic Celadon

This hippo and his little oxpecker friend are the cutest pair ever! The hippo is grazing among some leafy green water hyacinths, while the bird keeps watch. Decorated with rich, earthy colors, this sturdy stoneware plate would be the perfect size for cookies with your tea, or as an adorable trinket dish. It can also be displayed upright on a stand, as a unique small art piece.

This functional, food safe plate was created on a potter’s wheel by Terry Parker.  It was decorated by Michelle Lichter, using underglazes, tiny paintbrushes, wax resist, and dipping in a lovely celadon glaze.
